Integrating R in TERR

Lately, I've been building the Dallas Office for Syntelli Solutions. One of core service offering is that of integration:

  • Integrating large, messy data into a big data platform
  • Integrating big data into BI
  • Integrating existing statistics into BI tools

Although for long-term data strategy Big Data integration typically is more important, what I'm seeing businesses need right now is integrating their R and SAS models into BI - giving their end users the flexibllity to use advanced , custom statistics in their decision making; even if they don't know a thing about statistics or how to code.

With that in mind, I'll be linking my posts over at Syntelli, with a bit of editorialization, at first about using stats in BI then moving into Big Data.

My first few posts were about ways to use regular R in Spotfire's TERR engine:

"Getting Started with R in TERR" where I show some basics on installing R locally and how to extend its functionality with new packages.
"Using the Census API in Spotfire" the second part of the previous article. In this one we get access to online census data and pull it directly into Spotfire using the TERR library RinR.
